A wedding photo album and its nature in the modern world

A wedding is a unique event in life and therefore requires a particularly responsible approach. I always try to stick to this statement in my work. During the wedding day, I make about 5,000 shots choosing the 500 best in my professional opinion. These 500 photos will be your unique memories of the happiest day in your life. I am sure that you will get a lot of pleasure looking through wedding pictures!

However, viewing a wedding from an online gallery will never give you such aesthetic pleasure as turning pages of a quality wedding photo book. The modern world is increasingly switching to online mode. The latest technologies undoubtedly improve our lives and make them more comfortable. But do you remember the feeling when you looked at photo albums from the wedding of your parents or grandparents? I am sure that the feeling of turning pages is different from when you view photos on your new smartphone.

A photobook is a modern final product of the photographer’s work. Each page of the wedding photo book shows the integrity of the wedding day, and a correctly selected sequence of the best shots can create the right highlights for the viewer and enhance the emotional state from watching it.

I believe that everything in the world is done for the sake of people's emotions. They make us move forward and become better every day.

I would like to point out some arguments on why the wedding album should be created and kept in each family.

1. Convenience and usefulness. When friends or acquaintances come over, you are unlikely to show them a series of 500 pictures on a computer. If you do not have a wedding album, you will show only a few pictures in order to describe the wedding day. This can be several photos where you are in a wedding dress, a photo of a bouquet, a photo with your parents, a photo from a church or a banquet - that’s all that will be interesting. Another thing is the album. It is interesting to flip through it having a glass of wine and an emotional conversation bringing back the memories from the wedding day.

2. The present. We all remember glueing the photos into albums in the childhood, which eventually peeled off from the pages. Digital printing has long substituted glue. Today, a wedding album evokes the same emotions but with high-quality creative design and printing.

3. Uniqueness. The book can be as unique as possible at your request. You can choose your favourite colour palette, the title on the cover, its colour, material or engraving. All of this is affordable and very stylish!

4. Your photobook - your rules. I always give the right of choice to my clients and advise which photos to choose so that the book is diverse. However, all the photos printed in the photobook will be approved by you first.

And now I would like to walk you through the main stages of the photo book designing and manufacturing. Before the designer starts working, you voice all your wishes regarding the wedding photo book you expect to get. My clients very often choose the photos to be included in their wedding photo book themselves. After the designer makes the photo book layout, you look at it and can make changes. Then, we choose the cover together and send it to print. I print books in the best and most trusted photo labs in Germany, whose work I fully trust. It takes about 15-20 days to print and deliver the photo book. 

5. An heirloom. Do you remember the feeling of flipping through the pages of your grandparents' albums? Your grandchildren will have the same feeling when they are going to leaf through your wedding photo book. And this seems wonderful to me.

6. Save time and money. Everyone knows the feeling when in order to save we decide to do something ourselves and are not satisfied with the result.

Of course, you can make a photo book yourself, but, as practice shows, not everyone is satisfied with the end result. I’ll try to explain why.

Firstly, high-quality photo albums are not cheap and require significant work on the design. Secondly, it is worth adding the cost of professionally printed photos. Thirdly, it will take a lot of your time.

In the end, you will spend an amount that will be almost identical to the cost of a good modern wedding photo book with an ideal design made by professionals.

According to my observations, if you did not make a wedding photo book after the wedding, you will never do it. Thus, one of the most important days of your life will be left without proper design. These are just a few of the wedding photo books benefits that I can list.

It will also be appropriate to mention your parents. Half of my clients present their parents in particular with their wedding photo book or an engraved book. In most cases, our parents live separately from us. That is why the gift will certainly be a wonderful decoration at their home and a gratitude compliment. I am sure that your parents’ reaction to such a gift will pleasantly surprise you.

I recommend a 30 * 30 cm sized photo book since I consider these parameters to be the most optimal. The photos in such a book look very harmonious and you can easily spot all the details. The number of pages can be ordered from 100 or more. Usually, 150-170 photos are enough for the book of such a size. These will be the brightest shots from your wedding day, which will please you all your life.
